Apple baru saja merilis pengumuman gelaran WWDC 2017. Event tahunan berkumpulnya para developer yang digelar oleh Apple tersebut akan dimulai pada 5 Juni mendatang. Berbeda dengan tahun-tahun sebelumnya yang diadakan di Moscone, San Francisco, WWDC 2017 akan digelar di McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, California.
Sebenarnya McEnery Convention Center di San Jose bukanlah tempat yang benar-benar baru bagi Apple. Sebelum pindah ke Moscone pada 2003, Apple rutin menggelar WWDC dari tahun 1988-2002 di McEnery Convention Center.
Pengumuman ini cukup mengejutkan. Pasalnya, Apple biasa mengumumkan tentang gelaran WWDC di bulan April setiap tahunnya. Dari rilis pers Apple:
The McEnery Convention Center will be the hub for thousands of attendees with great hotel, restaurant and entertainment options, all within walking distance. In addition to the keynote address, get-togethers, sessions and labs for developers, Apple is working with the city of San Jose and local businesses to celebrate the return of WWDC with very special experiences around San Jose throughout the week.
